It's been a while...

Well, I can't sleep so I decided I would update this.  With Facebook I really forgot this even existed but playing around tonight I found it and decided to do a little update.

It's been a fun weekend.  Just got back from St Louis with one of the most awesome people in my life.  Went to a Cardinal's game which was a lot of fun even though they didn't win.  Had a good time playing in St Louis and hanging out.  Got home to find two little guys who were very happy to see me.  Both had made little books for me to look at.  As soon as I got in the door Pierce said, "Mom you're home!  What did you bring us?"  I showed them their little gift (which was candy) they ate their candy and then Miller kept bring me little gifts he was coloring.  Some times it is really nice to get away but then when I see my boys I am always glad to be home.

Last week I spent some time in AR which I always love.  While watching all the kids play I decided to get the camera out and recreate an old picture.  The original picture is early on in this blog and was taken when Miller was 6 months old.  He is now 4 and a half so there is a 4 year difference in this picture.   I really hope I remember 4 years from now to take it again and just keep updating it.  Here is the old and new picture.

Not so little anymore!

Boring but useful

Okay could be seen by some as a pretty boring update but it might be seen to some as quiet handy dandy. That is what I found this info to be so I thought I would share it with all of you.

I am sure this works for everyone but it is better for those who have unlimited texting (or at least it is cheaper on all of you) But did you know you can text Google?

Well you can and you can find out anything. For instance if you want to know the weather forcast, or where a resturant is located, or if a town has one, anything...

All you do is send a text to Google (there number is 46645) Then you type in what you want to know. For instance...Forcast, Springfield MO or Applebee's, Springfield MO and within a minute Google will send you a text with the info. It's pretty easy.

So if you are every out and don't want to look something up online (or worse if your phone doesn't go online) then you can just send a quick text to Google and findout whatever you need.

Disney On Ice

I took Pierce to see Disney on Ice back in April. I wasn't sure if he would like it, especially when he got up that morning saying he didn't want to go and then fell asleep on the way to it. But once the show got ready to start (and we bought some candy) he got excited. It was a great show. It was very fast moving and very entertaining (at least to me it was) We went with our friends Noah and Terra and we all had a really good time.

Who is that masked lady, Oh that's Mama Incredible!

Mom, Pierce, Terra, Noah and the bad guy from the show (I can never remember his name)

T-ball

Tonight was Pierce's first t-ball game. It might have been one of the funniest things I have ever seen. It seemed about half the kids were really excited and about half could careless... you will see in the pictures which group my child was in. They don't keep score with these games, but you could tell our team had gotten more out of their practices than the other team had. Our kids only got to bat once cause the other team was so slow at bating and at taking the field that they took up a lot of the time we had. But everyone seemed to have a good time. I know everyone in the stands did anyway.

Pierce and one of the other kids on the team. Oh did you think he would be the one into the game... all I have to say is Michael Fahr Jr.

The guys on the team... Levi, Pierce, Elijah, Elliot. I didn't notice till someone pointed out to me, but Pierce really is eyeing Levi's snacks.

Our girl friends on the team... Not so much "girl friends" as our friends of the other sex on the team. Ha Claudia, Avery, and Rylee.

Okay, Okay

So I admit it is pretty pathetic how often I update this now days. Chasing the two boys and trying to pick up little side jobs for spending cash makes it hard to find time to sit and write, especially when I so nicely update my Facebook so often so you can keep up with me there. :-)

There have been a few exciting things happen. The first was the craziest storm I have ever been in that blew threw here last Friday. I have been in a lot of storms but I have never seen anything this wild. The morning started with the doorbell ringing. I jumped out of bed with wild hair and saw my downstairs neighbor at the door. He said he had a tornado ready space if we needed to come down. I said, "oh are there storms out" (give me a break I had just got out of bed!!!) He informed me that they had tornado warnings out and we were just about to get hit. So I went and checked the TV to see that it was suppose to hit us in 10 minutes. So I got around and got some real clothes on just in case it got bad. Finally the storm did hit. The sirens started blaring and the rain was coming down. The wind was crazy. It was a strong north bond straight wind. I stood in the door and watched it cause, as everyone knows I am FASINATED with storms. I had the news on and was watching it, occasionally taking calls from Michael who was down the street at work and mom who was across town at work to tell them where the storm was. The wild part about this storm was once the initial storm hit it just kept getting worse. Normally you can watch on the map and see okay it is past us, but even though it was past us the winds were getting stronger. They did say later it was some special rare storm that was really more like a hurricane than a tornado type storm. And it was...even the map on TV looked like a hurricane and the wind was really like one.

Anyway, we decided not to go downstairs cause I am not the kind to leave my house. I am more of a ride it out and someday you will probably find me in a field type. I was still watching the wind thinking how hard it was blowing when I started noticing the wind would occasionally hit me hard in the doorway. Which seemed weird since it was blowing north and I was standing to the East. While on the phone with Mike I asked him if it was changing directions (he was standing outside at work) he said, "well it is kind of blowing everywhere." So since it was I went ahead and asked Nenaw to put the boys shoes on. About that time it got calm, and then suddenly it started blowing again but now the trees were all leaning way to the South. Now for those of you who have never been in a tornado, that is a very telling sign that you are about to be in one cause it took something spinning to turn the wind around. So as soon as I saw that I grabbed the boys and headed downstairs. All my neighbors were already down there. All the guys were standing outside. They said, "We were about to come get you cause it just changed directions!" I said, "I know that is why we are hurrying down to your place” I wanted to stand out with the guys but the wind scared Pierce so I stayed with him. The guys came running in at one point to tell us to look at all the debris flying outside. Trim and shingles were being ripped from the apartment complex and it sounded like the roof was really going to go. I swear in all the tornado's I have rode out this is really the first time I thought I was going to be IN the tornado.

Finally the winds died down and we were able to go back home. The damage was wide spread. The news reported we ended up with 13 tornados. We were lucky, we only had some shingles off but many other places close by had a lot more damage. A school only about 10 miles from here lost a portion of the roof and had a portion collapse (LUCKILY none of the children were to severely hurt) After that the winds died down, the sun came out and it turned out to be a beautiful day for clean up.

A little of everything

So now it is at a point where I hardly ever update this sight. I am addicted to Facebook and spend more time on there but Miller (who hates me being on the computer) is in another room so I decided to give this a quick update (plus my Aunt Polly sent me an email asking if I was every going to update it) OH, I've been spotted.... type fast.

Okay well a lot is new these days but not so much that I want to put on here. Lets just say the times they are a changing. I have decided to make a go at the selling Arbonne. I love the stuff and have it all over my house so I figured why not sell it and bring in a few dollars. Plus it is a good reason to get out of the house a couple nights a month, which these days I need.

The boys are getting bigger every day. Pierce is at such a funny age. The things that come out of his mouth crack me up daily. And Miller, well he is still going to be the death of me. He has a charming smile that he thinks can allow him to do anything. He is quickly learning the smile might work on a lot of people but not Mom. I do have a new picture of them. I took it with my phone so it is pretty blurry but this is them playing in the car shopping cart. And I think it is super cute! Oh on the boys…Pierce has finally realized he can play with Miller and that he is fun to be around so as of about two weeks ago, Pierce will now acknowledge he has a brother and that he is a pretty cool little guy. You can kind of see in the picture how they have gotten a little closer.

As for me I have decided I cannot stand the weight I am at anymore and I have gone on a diet. At first it was horrible but it isn't so bad now. I haven't had a homemade cheeseburger in a month and a half and I almost don't miss them anymore. I have changed to diet soda and after a month and a half I am down 12 pounds, which seems to motivate me more. I actually can see the weight loss in my face, which is where I really wanted to lose it since most the time when people want to get a picture of you that want to get your face. HA
That is about all I have for now. I am officially giving up on typing since this little blog took 20 minutes. I have had a couple potty breaks, a couple watching Cars breaks, a couple “mom can you print me a coloring sheet” breaks and a few “mom I need more to drink” or “I’m hungry” breaks… Are you starting to see why I don’t update very often… it is almost impossible. HA
Later!

Winter Storm 09

Well, the storm is over and all is well. It was a fun storm for me (I was wanting bigger actually since I have no greenhouses to take care of anymore) We got freezing rain, sleet, snow, more sleet then a couple inches of snow. The snow came down really fast. I took Pierce out to play while it was coming down and he LOVED it. We never lost power so we were lucky. I went out about every day (yeah it is probably stupid but I LOVE to drive in this stuff) Last night I was telling Pierce I would take him sledding today. Sam decided we need to take Miller out too but he didn't have boots or an appropriate coat for this so I had to run to Wal-Mart to get it. It was super slick between Glenstone and Kansas Expressway (on I-44) there were 3 semi's in the ditch. One happened while we were at Wal-Mart. Of course I don't judge how slick the roads are by them. I mean the roads were super slick but they drive like super morons too.
While we did okay during the storm I have to say the ole family in Arkansas wasn't as lucky. They lost power about 4:20. It came back on about 6:30 but then they lost it again around 8 and now they are being told it will be Sunday before it is back on. They should be okay besides being bored. Most of them have those gas heaters you mount on your wall. They have all said they are keeping their homes pretty warm. And my grandma has a gas stove so they will be able to cook. The worst part for them is if they want to go anywhere they are out of luck. The big old pecan tree across the street from them, at my cousin Valorie's house, split. It fell onto my Grandma and aunt's driveway and is blocking in their cars. I am DYING to go down to Arkansas to help them cut it down and see all of it but I guess since all those semi's didn't do to good on the road I probably shouldn't attempt the dreaded Hardy hills. So for now I will just wait but soon and very soon I will be down.
Here are a few pictures my cousin sent me this morning...
In the background is my aunt Polly's trailer
In the background here is my Grandma's trailer
Just behind (if not slightly under) that is their carport

Yeah I bet their carport is even under this mess.
