Well, the storm is over and all is well. It was a fun storm for me (I was wanting bigger actually since I have no greenhouses to take care of anymore) We got freezing rain, sleet, snow, more sleet then a couple inches of snow. The snow came down really fast. I took Pierce out to play while it was coming down and he LOVED it. We never lost power so we were lucky. I went out about every day (yeah it is probably stupid but I LOVE to drive in this stuff) Last night I was telling Pierce I would take him sledding today. Sam decided we need to take Miller out too but he didn't have boots or an appropriate coat for this so I had to run to Wal-Mart to get it. It was super slick between Glenstone and Kansas Expressway (on I-44) there were 3 semi's in the ditch. One happened while we were at Wal-Mart. Of course I don't judge how slick the roads are by them. I mean the roads were super slick but they drive like super morons too.
While we did okay during the storm I have to say the ole family in Arkansas wasn't as lucky. They lost power about 4:20. It came back on about 6:30 but then they lost it again around 8 and now they are being told it will be Sunday before it is back on. They should be okay besides being bored. Most of them have those gas heaters you mount on your wall. They have all said they are keeping their homes pretty warm. And my grandma has a gas stove so they will be able to cook. The worst part for them is if they want to go anywhere they are out of luck. The big old pecan tree across the street from them, at my cousin Valorie's house, split. It fell onto my Grandma and aunt's driveway and is blocking in their cars. I am DYING to go down to Arkansas to help them cut it down and see all of it but I guess since all those semi's didn't do to good on the road I probably shouldn't attempt the dreaded Hardy hills. So for now I will just wait but soon and very soon I will be down.
Here are a few pictures my cousin sent me this morning...
