One Crazy Weekend

Well Greenhouse season is about upon us. We hoped to open a little early this year but found out the hard way that it just wasn't going to happen. Wednesday ended with Nenaw going to the ER for chest pains. She had phenomena, which was a shock, and the doctors wanted to keep her over night for observations. Mom and I got home around 1 a.m. The next morning we got up and were all ready to head to the hospital to sit with Nenaw when I realized I had a flat tire. We put Fix A Flat in it and headed to get it fix. Here's a tip, did you know Fix A Flat would ruin a tire. I sure didn't but it does and so my bill went from $30 to fix the tire to $120 to replace it. What a good day huh, oh wait it gets better. We finally got to the hospital and didn't have to wait to long for Nenaw to be released. On the way home I decided to check on my Greenhouses since we were having practically hurricane winds. Glenstone was pushed in a little so I called Sam to fix it. Alps had moved 5 feet so I decided it was best to just cut the plastic. Sure I would have to buy a little more and redo it but it beat losing the whole greenhouse. So I cut the ends out, hoping the air could move threw it, another mistake on my part. Cutting the ends turned the top plastic into a parachute. It was picking the greenhouse up. Mom and I were sitting on it trying to wait for Sam to get there to help hold on to the plastic when we cut it. It didn't work. The greenhouse lifted, twisted and fell with Mom and I sitting in it. We both were lucky. Mom has a huge bruise on her elbow where she put her arm to protect her head. I was covered from the top of my rib cage down but as the greenhouse started falling it paused. It half fell then stopped for just a second then continued down. During the brief pause I was able to crawl out a little before I got buried again from the rib cage down. I was lucky. If it hadn't been for the pause I would have been covered. Well Thursday night Sam and I took the Greenhouse apart and laid it back out. Saturday we put it up again. We had to replace all the sides cause the fall broke them all. We used left over parts from our other store and lumber for the rest. We did all this in the SNOW. Yes in the snow. Oh what a fun weekend.

So hopefully this week will be better. The frame is back up, the freezing is suppose to be over now, no one got to hurt in the fall (just lots and lots of bruises on mom and I), and the sun is suppose to shine most the week. That's right, you can't keep us down. Tomorrow we are going to cover and put up benches and we will be open by this weekend (Thursday is our goal). Hopefully we have gotten all the kinks out this weekend! Wish us luck!
